RIALTO FOOD TOUR IN VENICE

Visit Rialto food markets, eat, drink and sightsee the most pictoresque district of Venice

Tour Description

Sights and tastes to remember!

Our latest Venetian excursion is a 4-hour tour of osterias, trattorias, pastry shops and wine bars that offer some of the best traditional local fare in the Canal City.

Starting in Campo San Giacometto, you’ll travel with an English-speaking guide through this remarkably well-preserved ancient square. A bustling marketplace of waterways and commerce, it’s an exciting place to sample your first authentic Venice tapas. Called cicchetti, these zesty morsels showcase locally sourced seasonal meats, cheeses and vegetables. Each bite is a taste extravaganza!

You’ll soon learn on this guided food tour that food is the highlight of the best experiences in Venice! Picture plates bearing great mounds of colorful olives, and bright yellow polenta blanketing a plate of expertly marinated seafood. Listen to stories about the quaint bars and restaurants that dot the campi, as you absorb the sights and sounds of the heart of Venice.

Peruse markets boasting the freshest fish, sweetest melon and most delicate mushrooms. We’ll cross the Rialto Bridge to an 18th Century osteria famous for its cicchetti. Sample regional wines and Proseccos here, and relish more mini-bursts of regional flavors.

Campo San Bartolomeo is our next destination. Here are the Marco Polo House, Casanova’s roots, sacred churches and classic art. You’ll enjoy an educational and enriching experience filled with facts and trivia. Did you know that the Bellini cocktail originated here?

Then it’s on to Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo for Tiramisu, a rich Venetian dessert. Drink a delicious cup of coffee in the city that initiated Italians in its preparation and enjoyment.

Our tour of central Venice is easily accessible from local hotels. Our guides are well versed in the attractions of the area, and may provide suggestions and directions regarding local points of interest.

What could be better than art, history, food and wine in the historic Floating City?
